"The Tape"

In my small town growing up we spent a lot of Friday and Saturday nights, cruising. Of course music was a huge part of that scene.

During that time 8-track had basically given way to cassettes, which were not without their problems. Squeaking mainly, not so much dragging as was the big downfall with the 8-track system. Regardless, a well-played cassette was sure to end up squeaking. And to some extent, no matter what you did to make repairs (disassemble grease and oil the wheels) for instance, the result was an intolerable screeching that made listening impossible.

However, there was this one tape I made that stood the test of time. The TDK in this image seems to have defied time and to this very day, plays. And check on the playlist, wow, just amazing! Right!
